We are moving in two days. We will be in Eugene in two days. We have changed out schedule a bit, and rather than try to stay the night on the floor on Thursday, we are going to just drive after packing up the truck on Thursday – a better idea.
Our dogs know we are moving and are very upset about it. They just mope around all day, lying around on the floor being sad. I need to clarify. Libby, the smart one, knows we are moving. She’s been through moves before. Once when Ed joined the family and then when our family moved to our present home. Sully doesn’t really get it, she’s not that bright, but she’s reacting to Libby. And both dogs are reacting to our stress.
Kit E. will be pissed off when she realizes when we get there we have to keep her inside the house for a whole week to make sure she acclimates. She feels, as the queen of the castle, she should go in and out as she pleases. That’ll be fun. She’s also going to have to wear a dog collar and a leash on the trip so we don’t lose her. Now that will be fun for me.
On our trip to Eugene, Ed will drive the moving truck with Kit E. and I will drive the car with the dogs. They don’t travel well. But I’m hoping they’ll lull themselves into a nice little slumber or at least acceptance by at least Pendleton.
Poor little puppies! I'm so sorry...(and I had to giggle at your "smart" dog comment, reminded me of my "unscheduled child"!)
ReplyDeleteAnd it sounds like a good idea to just drive, I can't imagine floor sleeping would be much fun.
Good luck to all five of you! You're in my thoughts!
